It is a true honor to announce Elliot Martin as Erickson's Above and Beyond Student for February. Across every classroom at Erickson, from the stage to the art room, Elliot is described as a 'shining light' who brings an infectious blend of humor, talent, and genuine heart to everything he does.
His teachers describe him as a 'great neighbor' and a natural leader. In his Eagle’s Nest, Elliot doesn’t just follow the character pillars—he lives them. Whether he’s greeting everyone with a smile or leading the group with a custom-made 'Fairness rap,' he is a role model who makes sure every student feels heard and included.
In the classroom, Elliot is the perfect combination of hard-working and humble. Mrs. Cook notes his witty humor in Math, while Mrs. Ikens highlights his rare ability to ask how someone is doing and truly listen to the answer. In the art room and music department, his 'can-do' attitude is legendary. He’s the student who starts choir warm-ups without being asked and stays late to help organize the art room, always eager to support his teachers and peers alike.
According to Miss Hayes, his current 5th grade teacher, Elliot is a kind and positive leader who arrives at school each day with an eager, "can-do" attitude. A true role model, he consistently supports his peers and encourages them to be their best. This year alone, he has jumped into every opportunity available—from the Spelling Bee and morning announcements to serving as a preschool helper and SOAR assembly leader. His involvement in the upcoming 5th-grade musical is just one more example of how much joy and leadership he brings to the Erickson community.
