Accommodations for Left-Handed Students
Dr. Gordon gave a final report on the steps that have been taken to accommodate left-handed students in the district. The district purchased two left-handed guitars for Westfield. All three schools have left-handed scissors available in the art classes. The computer mouse can be easily reconfigured to accommodate left-handed students. When the student is finished using the computer, the mouse automatically reverts back to accommodate right-handed students. The District also purchased left-handed desks for each school. Mr. McKeown stated that his son, who is a left-handed student at Erickson, is very excited about the new desks.

At the suggestion of Dr. Litchfield, a certificate of appreciation will be sent to Christina Terenzio for bringing her concerns for left-handed students to the attention of the Board of Education.
