President Tamara Peterson called the special meeting of the Board of Education of Bloomingdale Elementary School District 13 to order on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the district office at 6:33 p.m.

Roll Call
Present: Mrs. Diane Birkley, Mrs. Fina Klco, Mrs. Susan Lancaster, Mr. Terry McKeown, Mr. Cary Moreth, Ms. Tamara Peterson

Absent: None

Others Present: Mark Friedman, Philip Ehrhardt, Bruce Brown (B.W.P. and Associates)

The Board discussed the timeline for the superintendent’s search and the requirements necessary to be a viable candidate. Board consensus is that candidates should have a doctorate degree and prior experience with the superintendency or as an assistant superintendent. Dr. Perkins will serve as the Board’s contact person to B.W.P. and Associates during the search process.

The Board discussed a proposal by the Education Foundation for the installation of a handicapped-accessible playground to be built between DuJardin School and Marklund. The Board would like clarification as to whether a policy exists regarding decision-making roles between the Board, Education Foundation, and PTOs.

A motion was made Mr. Moreth and seconded by Mrs. Lancaster to adjourn the meeting. Voice Vote: all ayes

The meeting was adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
