WHAT DO I DO IF MY STUDENT FORGETS TO BRING THEIR LUNCH TO SCHOOL?
Due to the health & safety of our students, lunches are not able to be dropped off by parents during the 2021-2022 school year. Students who forget their lunch will receive one of the lunches we have on hand at Westfield. Previously, the following was our policy and we plan to resume the procedures as soon as we are able: There is a table in the front vestibule, outside the main office, where parents place lunches. Students come down at the beginning of their lunch time and pick up their lunch to take to the cafeteria. Parents need to be sure to check the time that their student has scheduled lunch so the food is available during the student’s assigned lunch time. Lunches are not delivered to students.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY STUDENT FORGETS TO BRING THEIR GYM UNIFORM, BOOKS, SPORTS EQUIPMENT OR COMPLETED ASSIGNMENTS TO SCHOOL?
Due to the health & safety of our students, supplies are not able to be dropped off by parents during the 2021-2022 school year. Previously, the following was our policy and we plan to resume the procedures as soon as we are able: We cannot guarantee personal delivery of equipment, materials, clothing or supplies to students during the school day. Rather than interrupt classes, we call students to the office during the passing period and deliver these items to the student should they come to the office to pick up the forgotten item(s).
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT USES THEIR CELL PHONE IN SCHOOL OR THE PHONE RINGS DURING CLASS?
Currently we are not using lockers. Students are expected to keep their phones off and out of sight during the school day unless allowed by a staff member. Students are asked to place their cell phones in a pocket as they enter the classroom. Previously, the following was our policy and we plan to resume the procedures as soon as we are able: It is in the best interest of the educational environment that phones be turned off during the school day and stored in a student’s locker. If students choose to carry their phone with them to class, they must turn it off and place it in the designated location in each classroom for the duration of the period. Students may check their phone during passing periods and use it for appropriate texting. Should the student use the phone inappropriately, such as taking photos or placing phone calls, the phone will be confiscated by school personnel. For the first infraction, phones will be held in the Main Office until the end of the day. For repeated infractions, parents are required to come to the school to retrieve the phone. In addition to confiscation, more disciplinary action could be taken. The use of cell phones at school is a privilege and can be removed if necessary.
CAN STUDENTS MAKE PHONE CALLS FROM THE MAIN OFFICE TELEPHONE?
There is a land line telephone in the main office that students are allowed to use for emergency or urgent situations. Calls need to be short and kept to the minimum.
WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED TO TAKE MY CHILD TO THE DOCTOR OR ORTHODONTIST APPOINTMENT?
Come to the Main Office and we will call your student for pick up.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT’S CELL PHONE, IPOD, OR LARGE SUM OF MONEY IS STOLEN?
Please remind your child of the importance of keeping their items secured at all times, not sharing their combination with a friend, and not bringing valuables and large sums of money to school. Cell phones are not a required item for school. The school does not assume responsibility, however we will assist as best we can in finding lost or stolen items.
WHAT TIME IS LUNCH AND WHERE DO THE KIDS EAT THEIR LUNCH?
Students eat their lunch in the gym or in the commons on long cafeteria style tables. The lunch times are posted on the website and in the student handbook.
WHAT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED FOR STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL AND HOW AND WHEN DO THEY JOIN?
Special opportunities exist for students to develop skills and interests in their lives beyond the classroom. Refer to the Athletics and Activities page for more information. With regards to clubs, most students can join at any time so encourage your student to get involved. In all instances, use email to contact the coach or sponsor for specific dates and times. For after school sports, Cross Country includes all students who regularly attend practice. Our other athletic programs require tryouts to become eligible to participate on the team. Students audition for roles in the school plays and the annual Talent Show. Students who are interested in the Theatre crew and backstage operations are encouraged to sign up to attend regularly scheduled meetings and practices. Also, check the “Morning Announcements” section on the front page of Westfield’s website for daily events, tryout dates and meeting times.
WHEN ARE PTO MEETINGS?

HOW DO I SIGN UP TO HELP WITH SCHOOL DAILY PROGRAMS OR EVENING EVENTS?
