A little more about me...
I attended Purdue University for my undergrad (Go Boilers!) and participated in a number of education programs while I was there. This is where my love for teaching was confirmed. After graduation in 2002, I was hired in Yorkville School District 115. While there, I taught second grade for 2 years and third grade with the gifted cluster for 9 years. During that time frame, I also completed a graduate program at Benedictine University and received my Master’s degree in reading. While I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Yorkville and learned so much about teaching, I decided that the hour-long commute was just too much for me. So, in 2013, I was given the opportunity to work here at DuJardin, and I am so grateful to be a part of this learning community which is only 20 minutes from home! At DJ, I taught both third grade and fifth grade before beginning my role as a reading specialist. Now, I get to help children of all grade levels develop a love for reading!
Two other accomplishments that my husband and I are very proud of are our two daughters. They couldn't be more different and all of their activities definitely keep us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
