State Mandated School Entrance Requirements

H1N1 (Swine) Flu Information

 

Kindergarten

Utilize 3 Cs

  • Physical examination completed within 1 year of the first day of school

  • Record of all immunizations

  • Dental exam

  • Eye exam

  • Clean - wash hands frequently upon arriving, before and after eating, prior to departing

  • Cover - use the inside of your elbow or a tissue to cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing

  • Contain - stay at home if you have a fever of 100.0 or higher, cough or sore throat until symptom free for 24 hours without the aid of medication

Second Grade

Protect Your Student and Yourself

  • Dental exam

  • Get the seasonal flu shot as soon as possible (September)
  • Get the H1N1 flu shot when it becomes available (October or November)

Both immunizations are available in injection or nasal mist form.

Fifth Grade

Flu Symptoms

  • Hepatitis B immunization series

  • Fever of 100.0 or higher
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Headache
  • Body aches
  • Chills
  • Fatigue

Some people have reported diarrhea or vomiting with the H1N1 flu, but flu is a respiratory illness not a stomach or bowel disease.

  • Physical examination completed within 1 year of the first day of school

  • Record of all immunizations

  • Dental exam
