 Guidelines

 

 

  • All work must be neat and legible.
  • Beginning second semester, students must use correct spelling for words
    that are on the word wall or displayed in the room. 

 

Grading Guidelines:

Academic Achievement Grades:  our students academic grades are based on a combination of the following assessments:

  • anecdotal observations
  • performance assessments
  • portfolio products
  • daily work
  • tests

The grades reflect the students' progress in relation to the average first grader's performance.

E = Excellent
E+ = 99-100%
E = 92-98%
E- = 90-91%
 
P = Acceptable Progress
P+ = 85-89%
P = 75-84%
P- = 70-74%
 
N = Needs Strengthening
N+ = 65-69%
N = 64 and below
 

 

 Effort Grading Guidelines: Our students' effort grades are based on observations of these behaviors:

  • student attends and participates during instruction and group work times
  • work is completed neatly and accurately
  • work is completed on time

The grades reflect the consistency with which the student meets the above effort goals.

E = Consistently meets effort goals

P = Usually meets effort goals

N = Seldom meets effort goals
