MATH

We took an assessment on the skills and concepts covered in Unit 14 and will begin focusing on reviewing the skills that have been taught the whole first grade year.

Don't forget that the OWL page has great games under the Math MAP activities!

.Mr. Nussbaum and pbskids.org are also great web sites to reinforce all curricular skills and can be found on the Erickson OWL web page grade 1.

SCIENCE

SOCIAL STUDIES

In Science we have finished our unit on Animals and Plants.  We will begin All About Matter.  Students will learn that everything is matter and can be classified according to its observable characteristics.  Matter exists as a solid, liquid, or gas and can change from one form to another.  Matter can be measured.

In Social Studies we will begin Unit 4 titled All Kinds of Jobs.  The big idea of this unit is that people work to make money to get jobs done.  Students will understand the value of work and learn that people work to get things they need.
