Welcome to the School District 13 Early Childhood program!  We offer services to eligible Special Education students from ages 3-6.  We service children from School District 13, as well as children from member districts in our Special Education Cooperative - North DuPage Special Education Cooperative (NDSEC).  Children attend our Early Childhood classes Monday through Friday, either for our morning or afternoon session.  Our program provides structured opportunities to promote academic, adaptive and social emotional growth.  We emphasize the individual needs of each of our students and use a multi-sensory approach in the development of each student's academic program.  We work closely with students and their families to develop a strong working relationship.

Research has shown that early intervention with children who have special needs is crucial to preparing students for elementary school.  The benefits of early intervention can often be seen throughout a child's educational career.  Children who receive appropriate services are more successful when they enter school.  District 13 provides pre-school screenings to assess children for possible delays, so we can begin to address their needs as early as possible.
