About Mrs. Rothbaum
I
was born in New York and grew up in Queens. I am the oldest of four children. I had a
very busy childhood, enjoying music and sports in particular.
I went to Monmouth University in New Jersey and earned my Bachelor's
degree in Education. I completed my Master's Degree in
Curriculum and Instruction in 1992 with National Louis University. I am married with twin
daughters. I was lucky enough to stay home for eight years to raise my girls.
My girls are now grown and on their own.
My work for District #13 began in 1986...yes, that's 25 years! Because I enjoy the
challenge of learning, I continue to take classes or workshops each
school year and also enjoy being a part of the staff book group
discussions. I have been serving on the district's Technology
Committee for several years. I feel that there's always a new, fresh way to do things. I
often tell my
students that you are "never done learning".
During my time away from school I
still enjoy music, gardening and playing golf. I have been
serving as a Library Board Trustee for the Bloomingdale Public Library
for many years now.
I love children and I love
my job! I feel very fortunate to work for School District 13
and appreciate its high standards. It is also a fun place to
work!
