Directions to Access the Glencoe American Online
Textbook (Grade 8)
- Go to www.glencoe.com
- Select Illinois (State), Student/Parent (User), and Social Studies
(Subject) and click Enter
- Select Textbook: "The American Journey 2003 Edition"
- A new page will open, then select online book edition at the
top of the page
- You will see a sign-in section - Type in the User Name and
Password* and click Submit
- Select the Table of Contents, then Unit, Chapter and Section
of the text you need. You may scroll by page also, once you get
in the chapter, by using the thumbnail section.
- Through this website, you can also explore the Chapter Overviews,
Web Activities, Self-Check Quizzes and Interactive Tutor (puzzles)
Directions to Access the Human Heritage Online Textbook
(Grade 7):
- Go to www.glencoe.com
- Select Illinois (State), Student (User), and Social Studies
(Subject) and click Enter
- Scroll down to World History and click on "Human Heritage:
A World History, 2001-04 Edition"
- Click on online book edition
- Scroll down to sign in or register
- Type in the User Name and Password* and click Submit
- Select the chapter or section you wish to view

(Grades 8)
- Choose the textbook you would like to access:
- Click on Student Center
- Click Online Student Edition which is found on the left side
of the screen under Textbook Resources
- Click "For online student edition click here"
- Enter username and password* (remember … it is CaSe SeNsItIvE)
- Click submit
- The book will open in Adobe Acrobat. There is an index under
the bookmark tab. Just click on the + sign next to the table of
contents to see a list of all the chapters in the book. Then click
on the + sign next to the chapter and so on until the student
is in the section needed.

labs, feature links, and much more.
