Welcome to Westfield!

This page is to inform you about the expectations and grading in the physical education department. Physical Education classes are held every day the entire year.

Requirements

Optional

Grading – you will receive a letter grade in this class based on:

If you cannot participate please bring a note from home that day. A note will excuse you for one day unless specified. A parent’s note can only be accepted for three days, beyond that a Doctor’s note is required.

Morning Detentions

Demerits will be assigned for the following infractions:

  1. For being unprepared – not having any part of the required uniform
  2. Not having your shoe laces tied properly (this is a safety issue)
  3. Boys wearing their shorts too low or girls rolling them up too high
  4. Being tardy to squads for roll call (this includes sitting in the assigned seat)
  5. Wearing jewelry to class (no warnings)
  6. For not being seated at the end of class when you are waiting for the dismissal bell to ring

When a student has reached 5 demerits in a grading period, parents will be notified and students will need to serve a morning detention.

Locks and lockers will be assigned to each student. Keep your locker locked at all times and do not give your combination to anyone else. A $4.50 charge is required if your lock is lost or stolen.

Jewelry is not allowed in class because of safety issues. This includes watches, earrings (except posts), necklaces, and bracelets of all kinds. Please lock these items in your locker.

If you or your parents have further questions, please ask or call us at 529-6211. Thank you for your cooperation.

HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
