“Ready to Learn”
As I reflect on starting my sixth year as principal of your middle school, I want to express how proud you should be of your children. They are an extraordinary group of “tweens” who want to please and excel. It is our privilege to see them every day in a way that you often do not, students who take pride in their work and set high standards for their own personal growth. Just this morning, when I greeted one 7th grade boy in the hallway, I asked “how are you today?” He replied “ready to learn!” You can imagine the intrinsic joy I felt as he said those 3 words. That is typical of what we see daily as our students flood into the school at 8:20 a.m. Their enthusiasm, loyalty to their friends and school, and their commitment to their own learning is a lesson for all of us. Yes, they are “ready to learn”.
