Arts These websites offer resources related to art and music education.
	ArtsEdge is part of Thinkfinity.org, a site supported by the Verizon Foundatin that offers free resources for teachers and students. ArtsEdge was established under a cooperative agreement between the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from the U.S. Department of Education. The site offers quality teaching materials and professional resources which are aimed at helping teachers integrate the arts into all areas of the curriculum.
	ArtsEdNet was developed by the Getty Center for Education for K-12 teachers of the arts. The site includes articles, news releases, lesson plans, curriculum materials, image galleries, and excerpts of various art education books.
	Crayola Art Education offers interesting and unusual art ideas. Teachers can search for art-related lesson plans categorized by level, curriculum, media, theme and timeframe. Also included are art activities for use in early childhood classes and character development programs.

	Music Education Online offers many resources for music teachers, including Internet links, an interactive bulletin board, and online lessons. Teachers can also post their favorite music activities or ask for help with a music-related problem.
General These websites offer resources related to a variety of curriculum areas and grade levels.
	Busy Teacher's K-12 Web Site provides online teaching materials, lesson plans and classroom activities for K-12 teachers. A wide variety of subject areas including "Recess" are included.
	Daily Dose of the Web offers many quick, criticial-thinking activities that can be used to start the day. Included are brain teasers, challenging questions, math problems, daily birthdays, quotations and vocabulary words geared for all grade levels and subjects.
	Discovery Channel Online was developed by the Discovery Channel, which is known for its high-quality educational TV programs. The site contains lesson plans sorted by grade and subject level. It also allows teachers to create and store lesson plans online. Teaching tools such as puzzle makers, test and quiz generators, and a clipart gallery are also available.
	Education Place sponsored by Houghton Mifflin, offers resources for teachers to use in Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies classes. Teachers will find interesting activities including graphic organizers, games, monthly features and current events. The site also includes an extensive Link Library of Internet resources.
	The Exploratorium website is an extension of the Exploratorium Museum, the museum of science, art and human perception. It contains hands-on activities, webcasts, online exhibitions, videos and many more interesting resources for teachers and students. The Exploratorium will definitely provide hours of learning and fun.
	Funbrain offers interactive activities in which students learn while having fun. The games are designed to teach math, spelling and grammar. Descriptions of each game are included. Games and activities are categorized by age and topic.
	Internet4Classrooms is a non-subscription site that provides high-quality Internet resources for use in classroom instruction. Included in the site are a variety oflesson plans, worksheets, practice module and other resources to help teachers use the Internet to promote learning.
	LD Online is a user-friendly site with a wealth of information on many different kinds of learning disabilities. LD In-Depth has articles on a wide variety of topics, written by experts, relating to learning disabilities. The Teacher page offers articles on teaching strategies, assessment, inclusion and teaching with technology.
	Misunderstood Minds is sponsored by the Public Broadcasting System and contains much information about learning differences and disabilities. Be sure to click on the Reading link, which is designed to give parents and teachers a better understanding of the reading processes, insights into reading difficulties and strategies for helping students.
	Multiple Intelligences offers a wealth of information related to Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences. The website provides a survey that can be used to determine strengths in the various intelligences, as well as links to many websites that offer lesson plans, activities and assessments for use in integrating Multiple Intelligences into the clasroom.
	PBS TeacherSource offers a wide variety of teacher resources in the areas of the arts, literature, health, fitness, math, science, technology, social studies and early childhood. The site contains over 2000 lesson plans, and offers featured lessons and activities based on current events.
	SBC's Blue Web'n site is actually a library of almost 2,000 "Blue Ribbon" education-related websites. The sites are categorized by grade level, subject, and format. New sites are added weekly, so be sure to visit the Blue Web'n site often.

	Pro Teacher: Reading & Language Arts provides hundreds of links to lesson plans and classroom resources related to Reading and Language Arts. Teachers can find ideas for teaching Primary and Intermediate Reading and Literature, Writing, and Speaking and Listening. Thematic units are included, as well as lessons for special needs students.
	Story Arts Online is full of storytelling activities for use in the classroom. In addition to lesson plans and classrooms activities, the site has a collection of short folktales and fables. Links to other educational sites are provided, and teachers can exchange lesson plans with other teachers through the site.
	ReadWriteThink is part of Thinkfinity.org, a site supported by the Verizon Foundatin that offers free resources for teachers and students. The site invites students to compose their own comic strips for prewriting, pre- and postreading activities, and as a form of literature response.
	Web English Teacher presents hundreds of lesson plans, WebQuests, videos, biographies, jokes, puzzles, and classroom activities related to the areas of Reading and Language Arts. The site also contains Language Arts-related activities about current topics, and a word of the day.
	WritingFix is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Project and the National Writing Project. It features interactive writing activities, tools, games, lessons and online publishing contests. WritingFix has ideas for right-brained and left-brained thinkers and also includes a section directly related to the 6+1 Traits model of writing instruction.
Math These websites offer resources related to math education.
	A + Math offers interactive activities designed to improve math skills. The site offers a game room, flashcards, math word finds, homework helpers, and practice worksheets. Teachers and students can also create their own online flashcards through the site.
	AAA Math provides students with a wide range of interactive lessons related to a variety of math concepts. The activities allow students to practice at their own ability level. Examples and instant feedback help prevent incorrect learning of a concept.
	Illuminations is associated with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and is part of the prestigious Verizon Thinkfinity.org program. It is designed to provide Standards-based resources to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics for all students. Illuminations provides many resources for teachers, teachers and parents that promote the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
	Math Archives is an easy-to-use site hosted by the University of Tennessee. The site offers a searchable database of math-related Internet links, teaching materials, software, and professional development resources.
	The Math Forum has a wide variety of information for anyone involved with mathematics. There are sections on different math topics and project ideas. The Teacher page has activities by grade level and a search feature that allows teachers to search Internet links for lesson plans, activities and weekly challenges. There is a "Ask Dr. Math" section with answers to common math-related questions.
	National Library of Virtual Manipulatives for Interactive Mathematics offers "hands-on" Web-based manipulatives for use with math instruction. These manipulatives allow students to visualize concepts related to number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis and probability. The site is user-friendly and offers lesson plans, extensions and assessment ideas for each activity.
Science These webites offer resources related to science education.
	Cells Alive provides information, images and video clips about viruses, immune cells, parasites, bacteria, aquatic organisms and food-borne pathogenic microorganisms. The site provides computer animations of such topics as mitosis and the cell cycle. Quizzes and tests are also provided.
	National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) operates dozens of Web sites which are useful for classroom teachers. From the NASA home page, teachers and students can connect to NASA for Kids, a web page with many activities, puzzles, games designed for students. There is also a link to the Teachers' Corner, which has links to activities, lessons, and other teacher resources.
	Science NetLinks is part of Thinkfinity.org, a site supported by the Verizon Foundatin that offers free resources for teachers and students. Science NetLinks is the result of a partnership between the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the WorldCom Foundation. Science NetLinks provides current resources for K-12 science educators including lessons, websites, news, and forums.
	The Why Files is sponsored by the National Institute for Science Education. The site uses news and current events as springboards to exploring a variety of science topics including space, cellular biology, environment, health and technology. The articles are easy to read, and include photos as well as a touch of humor.
	The Yuckiest Site on the Internet focuses on some of the yucky areas of science. Students can learn about gross topics such as cockroaches, worms, ear wax and eye gunk. There is a page of yucky games, activities and experiments, and a Teacher Center with classroom resources and teaching units.
Social Studies These websites offer resources related to social studies education.
	EconEdLink is part of Thinkfinity.org, a site supported by the Verizon Foundatin that offers free resources for teachers and students. The site is a program of the National Council on Economic Education, and is designed to provide resources based on curriculum standards and the essential principles of economics. K-12 teachers will find lesson materials for "real-world" issues which make learning economics relevant and fun.

	The History Buff was started by a history buff who enjoys collecting old newspapers. The site contains historical information on each of the presidents, historic audio and video clips, information about each of the fifty states and press coverage of a wide variety of historical events.
	Lesson Plans and Resources for Social Studies Teachers offers an extensive list of links and resources from the Internet for Social Studies teachers. Topics include history, geography, world cultures and current events. This easy-to-use site also includes links to electronic newsgroups, discussion lists and mailing lists for Social Studies teachers.
	National Atlas is a site maintained by the United States Department of the Interior. It provides many different kinds of multimedia maps along with summaries of geographic information.
	National Council for the Social Studies: Teacher Resources offers classroom resources which can be searched by the ten themes of the Curriculum Standards for Social Studies. Also included is the schedule of upcoming TV social studies-related programs, and a list of notable social studies books for students.
	National Geographic Online gives students and teachers access to exclusive National Geographic content - including maps, articles, photographs, quizzes - which is updated daily. The "For Kids" page offers many online activities for students, and the "For Teachers" page has a searchable database of activities, resources and lesson plans.
	National Geographic Xpeditions is part of Thinkfinity.org, a site supported by the Verizon Foundatin that offers free resources for teachers and students. The site, created by the National Geographic Society and WotldCom, is designed to provide activities based on the U.S. National Geography Standards. Included in the site are maps of places all over the world, multidimensional activities and lesson plans.
