Using the HP CD-Writer Plus with the Adaptec Easy CD Creator Software

Creating a CD-R Disk

  1. Put a blank CD-R into the HP CD-Writer. To access the Easy CD-Creator Software, go to Start/Programs/HP CD-Writer Plus/Create a CD. The What do you want to do? window will appear. Select the last option, Make a data CD that is the most compatible with other CD-Rom drives. Click OK on the Create a CD Recommendation window.
  2. The Easy CD Creator window will open. If the Adaptec Easy Creator Wizard window appears, choose Cancel. In the box in the upper left corner, find the drive (e.g., your "H" drive) or location for the files you want to copy. Double-click on the icon associated with that location. All the files from that drive will appear in the box in the upper right corner. Click on each file you want to copy and drag it to the box in the lower right corner. (To choose more than one file to drag, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on each icon.) You can see how much space is left on the CD by watching the numbers at the bottom of the Easy CD Creator window (in the gray area).
  3. When you have moved all the files you want to copy into the box in the bottom right corner, from the File menu, select Create CD. The CD Creation Setup window will appear. Under Options, check Create CD, then click OK.

Creating the CD will take several minutes, depending on the size of the files you are copying. When the Recording Phase CD created successfully message appears, your CD is finished.
