The Board of Education of Bloomingdale Elementary School District 13 held its annual tour of schools on Monday, September 14, 2009 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Erickson Elementary School.

Present: Mrs. Diane Birkley, Mrs. Fina Klco, Dr. Donald Litchfield, Mr. Terence McKeown, Mr. Cary Moreth, Ms. Tamara Peterson

Absent: Mrs. Linda Wojcicki

Others Present: Dr. Kim Perkins, Mr. Greg Leyden, Dr. John Markgraf (6:00– 6:20 p.m.), Dr. Debbie Kling (6:25-7:00 p.m.), Mr. Mark Dwyer (7:05–7:30 p.m.)

The Board conducted its annual tour of school facilities to view work that had been done over the summer months. Highlights of the tour included the following:

• Erickson: new carpeting in the halls, new fire alarm system panel, new computer lab (relocated), and relocated Lit Center
• Westfield: new hallway entrance carpeting, new gym lighting and PE offices, new library furniture, lighting, ceiling, and carpeting, new windows in the oldest classroom addition, and parking lot drainage work
• DuJardin: new speaker system in the gymnasium, new entrance carpeting, and new classroom carpeting
• District Office: parking lot drainage and steel support beams

The Board expressed great appreciation for the work of Mr. Leyden and his team in getting the summer work done in a quality and timely manner.
