ACE (Assist Children’s Education) is
a District 13 volunteer program developed to enhance our children’s
education through community volunteers. Preparing today’s
students for tomorrow’s challenges is crucial. We believe
that when our children succeed in life, we will all benefit.
ACE volunteers lend assistance to all grade levels, providing
staff more time to do what they do best - TEACH!
Here are some examples of how ACE volunteers
have been helping teachers:
Filing portfolio work.
Mailings, xeroxing, tracing, laminating, cutting out items.
Taping library books.
Mounting artwork and displaying artwork.
Assisting in the computer lab or with practice groups in reading.
Popping popcorn for the accelerated reader store.
Shelving books in the library.
Helping one-on-one with math facts.
Binding memory books.
Videotaping and photographing concerts.
Scanning/editing books for the computer.
Tearing out workbook pages.
Distributing P.E. uniforms.
ACE is a great way for parents to be involved
with their child’s school and to get to know how things
work. Kids really love to see their parents in school!
