| In Mrs. Mirante's science class, the 5th grade students were
studying the respiratory, digestive, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems.
In addition to studying the systems in class the students utilized interactive
websites in the I.M.C., prepared by Mrs. Schmuldt, to enhance their understanding
of these systems. Students were also given a hands-on presentation by Dr.
Hassaballa on the negative effects that drugs, alcohol and over/under eating
have on the body systems. As a culminating activity, students used the flip
cameras to film commercials on all the information they had learned about
their body systems. The students were expected to create their own scripts,
props and costumes. Overall, the students did a wonderful job and learned
an abundance of information! |
