Accelerated Reader^®

Accelerated Reader®, a product of Renaissance™ Learning, is a reading incentive program at DuJardin School. This computer program measures the comprehension of books read. Points are awarded based on the length and difficulty of the story. The points earned taking tests may be redeemed at the Accelerated Reader® store which is open once a month during lunch time. In addition, there is also a special night out for Accelerated Readers in February. Students in Grades 4 and 5 who earn 50 points, students in Grade 3 who earn 35 points, students in Grade 2 who earn 25 points, and students in Grade 1 who earn 15 points will be invited to attend this special night. Students in Grades 4 and 5 who earn 100 points, students in Grade 3 who earn 70 points, students in Grade 2 who earn 50 points and students in Grade 1 who earn 30 points will be invited to attend our very special field trip in May. Participation in the program is strictly voluntary. Students may take tests before school on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:15 a.m., during lunch recess or in their classroom when their teacher lets them.

We have approximately 2350 quizzes for Accelerated Reader®. The books in the DuJardin IMC have been marked with a special red Accelerated Reader® sticker.
